Wine Review: ’06 Whitehall Lane Cabernet Sauvignon

The bottle itself.
It was July 4th and I was at an annual BBQ. A bunch of family and friends all gathered for some fun. It was still daylight out when my buddy comes up to me and asks if I had tried the wine yet. After I told him that I had not, he immediately made me get a glass and try it for myself. I was very happy he did. The big bottle of wine went very quickly. Soon after I had a taste, I knew exactly why…

Wow! It was the best Cabernet Sauvignon I have had in a long time. If I was to give it a score from 0 to 100, this would definitely have a score of 95. It had nice legs and solid color in the appearance. Sadly I didn’t take much time to actually take in the nose of this wine. It was a smooth taste from start to finish. When I put some of the wine in my mouth, I let whirl around in my mouth for a few seconds and then swallowed. The after taste was the smoothest I have had in a long time. It finished off the wine in a very positive way.

I went online to lookup how much this wine costs. A bottle costs $40 from the winery. I don’t usually say this, but it is well worth $40. I usually find any bottle above $25 to be expensive.
